With the worldwide concern about global climate change using data logger equipment to monitor a wide range of environmental factors such as temperature, solar radiation, precipitation and water levels of water is becoming increasingly widespread.
Many contemporary models offer datalogger operation long internal batteries, along with a universal input capability multichannel. This makes them ideal for field use with a variety of environmental sensors. Log entries of data necessary for these sensors are listed below:
Data Logger Temperature Sensor inputs
The three main types of temperature sensors are thermocouples, PT100 and thermistor probes. Thermocouples require a data logger with high resolution and the cold junction compensation. Thermocouples require no External them ideal for installations with a datalogger in remote locations. Thermistors are inexpensive and accurate, but not linear so the data logger needs a Look Up Table for reading internal precision devices. PT100 sensors are very accurate but because they are three devices in many models of low cost data recorder are not compatible.
Data Logger input rain gauge
A rain gauge is a device shaped tub with a rain collector. The storm drain funnels a bucket sensor. When the bucket fills up his advice, leading to a pulse of a piece of change measuring 0.2 mm of rain. A data recorder must have a pulse input to work with a rain gauge.
Data Logger input to solar radiation sensors
Although many models of low cost data recorder may work with temperature sensors WM2 data needs a very low range and high resolution measurement of useful reading.
Data Logger input sensors for water level
Sensors water level are generally types of submersible pressure transducer or non-contact ultrasound. Like most of the pressure sensors based on deep require excitation data recorder must be able to power the sensor. Many models have a data recorder supply five volts available for this type of sensor. To use with ultrasonic level sensors data recorder must be able to feed a 4-20mA.
