Are there ANY alternative to the transvaginal ultrasound?

My mom wants me to get one, I had one before, I really do not want to do it Again, we have been fighting it for almost 2 days, with all the technology out there, you'd think there would be something less invasive? ANYTHING?!

I really do not think there is. I know it's not a fun process and can actually be quite frightening. One would think that if you can put a man on the moon may have an easier way to make the procedures of a woman, but really have no other way. Transabdominal (stomach) does not always show cysts and other abnormalities and transrectal is something I do not think anybody wants it.
