baby images : “you can really see the details of eyes, face, his pretty little nose…”

A couple of young parents stare wide-eyed at the flat-screen TV, a clearly detailed, full-motion image of their unborn daughter leaves them breathless.

“Wow, it was pretty exciting, just seeing the face,”  say the future mom as an ultrasound technician moves a small scanning device across her round belly.

“You can really see the details of the eyes, the face, the nose … you can see her move.”

The couple have come to this clinic to determine the sex of their child and purchase pictures and high-resolution video recordings – services most hospitals won’t provide.

But parents be careful !!!!

There are potential health risks associated with exposure to ultrasound for non-diagnostic purposes. Ultrasound images should not be used for non-medical reasons or for commercial purposes. Ultrasound is a non-invasive technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images on a monitor of internal soft tissues and body cavities, such as a fetus growing in the womb.

Warnings mean little because the regulation of ultrasound clinics is under  an uncontrolled environment in terms of any kinds of regulations – timing, power, all those sorts of things. Professional associations are all opposed for the utilization of a medical device for non-medical purpose.
